4. Feed the Farm Animals

Designed for lower primary, feeding the animals allows the students to come into contact with many different farm animals in a safe and happy environment.

5.  Meet the farm animals and their products

Where do eggs come from? Where does wool come from? In this activity students will have contact with the animal they are talking about and explore the products associated with each one. (Note: This activity is one hour long and is considered the equivalent of two half hour activities. If you are choosing this activity you will only need to choose three activities in total.)

6. Calf Feeding

As the activity name implies - watch the calves being fed from a bulk milk feeder. Explore the needs of a calf to survive and if you are lucky we might even have a new born your class can name. This activity is designed for older classes but can easily be adapted to younger classes.

7. Planting and Pasture

Follow the process from preparing the ground to feeding the pasture to the cow. Lots of machinery demonstrations, science and strategic thinking!

8. Sustainable Farming

All about the environment and farming. Explore the ways farmers can protect the environment they live and work in while maintaining a sustainable industry.

9. What does a farmer do?

Perfect SOSE activity! Meet real farmers and explore just what a farmer does - is it a job that would interest you when you grow up?

10. Historical Tales

Real historical tales and stories brought to life following using artefacts that directly link us to the past on this farm. With scaffolding students can create their own tale. Tales explored can include the Chinese Shepherds Walk and the Ghosts of St John's Lodge.
