Investigate
what products can be made from milk and follow the process of turning milk into
butter.
4. Feed
the Farm Animals
Designed
for lower primary, feeding the animals allows the students to come into contact
with many different farm animals in a safe and happy environment.
5. Meet the farm animals and their products
Where do
eggs come from? Where does wool come from? In this activity students will have
contact with the animal they are talking about and explore the products
associated with each one. (Note: This activity is one hour long and is
considered the equivalent of two half hour activities. If you are choosing this
activity you will only need to choose three activities in total.)
6. Calf Feeding
As the
activity name implies - watch the calves being fed from a bulk milk feeder.
Explore the needs of a calf to survive and if you are lucky we might even have a
new born your class can name. This activity is designed for older classes but
can easily be adapted to younger classes.
7. Planting and Pasture
Follow the
process from preparing the ground to feeding the pasture to the cow. Lots of
machinery demonstrations, science and strategic thinking!

Sustainable Farming
All about
the environment and farming. Explore the ways farmers can protect the
environment they live and work in while maintaining a sustainable industry.

and explore just what a farmer does - is it a job that would interest you when
you grow up?

Historical Tales
Real
historical tales and stories brought to life following using artefacts that
directly link us to the past on this farm. With scaffolding students can create
their own tale. Tales explored can include the Chinese Shepherds Walk and the
Ghosts of St John's Lodge.
